both student's . and members attachments.

it will be very helpful in sorting attachments by their category s.a. transportation, immun records, etc.

this is different from notes which are used for a description of the file.

preferably if you could add it to the lists in administration so one will be able to create a list of categories, as well to the query selection (generic-mscanner \ sscanner) so one could query by category.

thank you very much in advance!

Ner Yisroel could really make use of this also.

Two fields One for the general type of file (application, transcript rec'd, medical) and one for the specific contents of this attachment.

Hope you can implement this!

Added. To setup the categories enter it by the ValueText2 Column (2).

Thanks. Did you add it also by the Scanning Documents Students  ?

Thank you for adding.

How will this play with: https://jlssolutions.com/QA/42/how-attach-pile-of-documents-to-each-account-using-bar-codes

Will Document Name populate Category or Note? Can we choose? If doing a batch it would make more sense for it to go to category?

Thanks!

It will add the category based on the document note.

Thank you!

It would make sense for us to allow users to type notes "free form" and to limit the categories to preselected options.

Any way to do this?
commented Mar 22, 2018 by Admin
No. We hate limits.
commented Mar 22, 2018 by bismark
Even if they would be able to type something else, as long as there will be a drop down pre-populated with options so they would not create extra categories simply by typing an extra character...
commented Mar 22, 2018 by Admin
Correct. Drop down is already there.

There's a drop-down available for notes. I would like to pre-populate a drop-down for category. How can I do that? For example: a category might be transcript received the note might be from what yeshiva or date. It is easy to go and put notes in administration that will pre-populate that drop down. I would like to be able to define the categories and allow the users to type whatever note to explain the details when they scan the item in.

Category Drop Down is from ValueText2 setup in the answer.
