No More Guessing Where to Make a Bus Change

Until now, bus changes often depended on experience, guesswork, and back-and-forth phone calls between the office and bus managers to figure out the best place to make the switch.

With the new JLS AI RoutePilot, that changes completely.

JLS AI can now analyze the route and recommend the exact stop for the bus change, showing where it should be placed between existing stops and how much additional route time it will add.

This is not just a faster way to handle bus changes. It is a completely new way of doing them.

No guessing. No unnecessary phone calls. No relying on someone to manually figure out the best location.

JLS AI RoutePilot brings intelligent bus-change planning directly into JLS.

Thank you for the amazing new bus-change feature!

Could you add the same intelligent RoutePilot option for placing a new student on a regular bus route?

We need this frequently when:

  • A new nursery student begins attending school.
  • A new family moves into our area.
  • An existing student starts using bus transportation.
  • A student’s address changes.

When the student’s address is entered, JLS AI RoutePilot should analyze all existing bus routes and recommend:

  • The best bus route for that student.
  • The exact stop the student should use—or whether a new stop is needed.
  • Where the student should be inserted between the existing stops.
  • How much additional travel time will be added to the route.
  • Other suitable route options, when available.

After reviewing the recommendation, the office should be able to approve it and add the student to the selected route in the correct stop order.

This would eliminate guesswork, reduce phone calls with bus managers, and make adding new students to routes much faster, smarter, and more accurate

This can already be accomplished with the new JLS AI RoutePilot.

For a student with an address change, first unassign the student from their current bus.
For a new student, add the student to the route without assigning a bus.

Then open JLS AI RoutePilot and click AI Routing. Skip any specific buses that you know should not be included, then click Create Proposed Routes. RoutePilot will analyze the available routes and recommend which bus the student should be placed on, including the appropriate position within the route.

You can review the AI-generated recommendation and route changes before saving anything.
Once everything looks correct, approve and save the updated route.
