Currently this item is fully compatible, you just need to plug it in and it works and it's only $18.50.

The same place you need to be when you enter a credit card. You just swipe instead.

its the coolest thing btw disable enter in cc. how do in tuition? and is it per user per computer or per user in general? tx

Just added to Tuition that it should follow the setting selected in fundraising. You would need to update Tuition.

Its per machine and per windows login.

tx much update tuition doing the whole business ftp.. etc or just update using service?
commented Apr 30, 2015 by Admin
FTP is getting the update to your system. Update using service is getting the update on the current machine. Database update is updating the database for the fields needed for this update.

We purchased three of the credit card scanners suggested above on Ebay and they work perfectly fine.  (They where shipped from China) We do not get to use them very often since most card numbers are entered manually by phone. But we have them plugged in to the USB ports in the back of the computers. So if anyone walks in to donate with a card we use the swipe.

I know Credit Card companies encourage the swipe method for security reasons. But its not always an option.  I personally think that swiping dose make people feel more secure. Some people might have the phobia of their card number being written down etc..

On another note. Having donors credit card numbers on file is a very convenient thing mostly for people that have an interest in calling in there pledges or donations on a regular basis. Some will say, I should have a card on file. Or the person taking the call may say. I see you have a a card ending in #'s xxxx or two cards which one should we use. Sometimes they will say, one of them are not valid anymore so we delete it right away? I do make sure to mention that for security reasons I can not see the rest of the card numbers only the last four digits. (I think there is an option to see or not to see the numbers, but we choose not to) We don't mind giving the donors the  comfort, that we have no interest in keeping their numbers only for their convenience so if they ever call again they can just  ask  to charge the card.

I do wish it would take a little faster for the card to be processed and charged. I'm not sure if this is due to the fact that we are on a network or its the program its self. I find that people don't mind waiting when you ask them if they want to hold until it goes through. But then you have some that want to wait but can't wait to hang up.

Speed of the Credit Card depends largely on the platform used. The customers that use JLS Solutions for their Merchant Account should see an approx 6 second response time.
