Is it possible for a solicitor who gets a pledge to be automatically entered as the solicitor when the payment is recorded?

If you have the solicitor setup for this campaign in solicitors it will be filled in. But just because he was the pledge solicitor doesn't have to be that he is the payment solicitor too.
