Deactivate Old Deposit Accounts in Payment Dropdown Menu

We recently changed banks and would like to deactivate the old deposit accounts. They shouldn't appear in the dropdown menu when entering payments. Is it possible to hide them so bookkeepers don't use them mistakenly?

If I delete it, I will not be able to look up past transactions in my reports because I still need them for reference.

Why want you be able to look up? Deleting from the dropdown does not delete them from the record.

I cant look up a bank that i deleted from the drop down. it does not show up any place
