Yes. Certain scanners you will need to change the keyboard setting in remote desktop to "On this Computer" as pictured below.

As you can see this is a known issue with Microsoft RDP. You IT dept should be able to work around it. Should you want to use our IT dept for it you can contact sales to set you up with them.
